Who can benefit from the Experienced Diver Test?

The Experienced Diver Test is designed specifically for divers with extensive underwater experience but who cannot demonstrate their skills with an official certification. This may be the case for divers who have lost their certification, never received a certification, or were trained as military, professional, rescue, or scientific divers. This test allows them to have their knowledge and skills officially recognized.

How does the Experienced Diver Test work?

The Experienced Diver Test puts your diving skills and knowledge to the test. You'll be quizzed on dive theory and emergency procedures, and then you'll have to show us you can actually do the dives. It's a pretty thorough check to make sure you're ready for more advanced diving.

Everything you need to know about the SSI Experienced Diver Test

The SSI Experienced Diver Test is designed to refresh the skills of experienced divers. A mandatory check dive is required for participation, ensuring safety.

Age: The Scuba Skills Update is accessible to anyone aged 15 and over.
Duration: The course lasts only one day. During this time, you will complete two dives.
Theory Exam: Based on the SSI Open Water course, covering diving principles and safety.
Minimum Prerequisites: Demonstration of certification via logbook or supervisor statement.
Maximum Training Depth: The maximum depth trained during the course is 18 meters.
Medical Statement: A fully completed medical statement is required to participate in the Scuba Skills Update. It is important that all participants are in good health to ensure safety during the course.
