The Classic Open Water Course is the ideal, globally recognized start to your diving career. This certification allows you to independently dive with a buddy up to a depth of 18 meters upon completion.
To ensure safety and efficiency, we work with very small groups, with a maximum of four students per instructor. You follow the training through a standardized program and share the instructor's attention with the other students.
This course is the perfect choice if you want to follow the full SSI training and find it important to share the learning experience in a social setting.
The course is divided over multiple days and follows a proven training plan:
Digital Theory (E-Learning)
Preparation at Home: You complete the theory online before arriving in Curaçao.
Quick Review: Your instructor reviews the most important points with the group at the dive centre.
Confined Water Training

Your adventure begins with creating your own SSI account. This is your personal digital portal to the diving world, complete with the user-friendly MYSSIApp
The best news? You can start the first chapters of the Open Water theory immediately and for free! You gain instant access to the educational material via the online platform or the MYSSI App, allowing you to acquire all the basic knowledge (such as dive safety and equipment) at your own pace.
2. Ready for the Real Deal
As soon as you have completed the theory and successfully passed the final theory exam, you are ready for the real deal! With the app, you can log all your future dives and, upon completion, immediately find your official digital certification. Super handy and flexible!

Welcome to our dive centre at Caracasbaaiweg 360, where your adventure truly begins. Our Open Water Course lasts a total of 2 intense and unforgettable days, during which you will complete 4 Open Water dives.
Comfort & Confidence:
Here, our experienced instructors are ready to teach you everything about your diving equipment. From fitting the perfect wetsuit to carefully assembling your complete set; in our small groups, we take ample time to ensure you feel comfortable, safe, and full of confidence.
Underwater Communication:
We teach you all the important dive signs and essential exercises. These basic skills are crucial for safe and enjoyable dives, and they form the perfect, stress-free preparation for your first dive in the warm, clear waters of Curaçao.
After all the preparations, the time has finally come: it's time to dive! You will start your underwater adventure in the shallow, warm waters of Curaçao, where you can calmly get used to breathing through the regulator.
Feel the Freedom:You will quickly notice that it feels like you are flying!
During your dives, you will practice several essential skills (such as clearing your mask and improving your buoyancy). You build your skills and confidence with every dive:
Dives 1 & 2: Down to a maximum depth of 12 meters (approx. 40 feet).
Dives 3 & 4: You will explore the depth down to 18 meters (approx. 60 feet)—the maximum depth for your certification.

Logging & Memories: Next, you record all your adventures in the MYSSI App. Logging your dives is an important and fun part of the course: this way you build your personal diving history and preserve the memory of the beautiful fish, corals, and other marine life you encountered.
And then, after the fourth and final dive, the official moment arrives! Once you have successfully completed both the theory exam and all practical dives, we congratulate you on your brand new Open Water Dive Certification!
