From our permanent dive center in Jan Thiel we personally guide you during the SSI Snorkel Diver course at Tugboat and/or Caracasbaai. No previous snorkeling experience is required; we take the time for explanations, preparation and practice in the water.
With one snorkeling trip, you choose: Tugboat or Caracasbaai. If you choose two snorkeling trips in one day, we visit both locations.

Complete the SSI Snorkel Diver course during one guided snorkeling trip at Tugboat or Caracasbaai.

The SSI Snorkel Diver course is an accessible way to learn snorkeling safely and comfortably.
You learn how to use your snorkeling equipment correctly, stay comfortable at the surface and move efficiently in the water.
You also learn how to take your surroundings, your buddy and the water conditions into account.
You need an SSI account for the SSI Snorkel Diver course. Through your SSI account, you get access to the digital learning materials. After completing the course, you receive your official SSI Snorkel Diver recognition.
You learn the basic skills to snorkel more comfortably, confidently and safely.
You learn how to use your snorkeling equipment correctly and what to look for when fitting and adjusting it.
You learn to breathe calmly through the snorkel and how to clear your mask and snorkel correctly.
You learn how to float comfortably and move efficiently through the water.
With good finning technique, you use less energy and can snorkel more comfortably.
You learn to take your buddy, the conditions and the environment into account while snorkeling.
You learn how to enjoy the underwater world without damaging the reef or marine life.
Tip: You can review the digital theory in advance through the MySSI App, so during your course you can focus mainly on the water and practical skills.

Your Snorkel Diver course starts at our permanent dive center in Jan Thiel, aan de Caracasbaaiweg 360.
From the dive center, we travel to the snorkeling location of your choice.
No rush and no complicated preparation. We take the time to get you ready for the water.
You are personally welcomed at Duikcentrum van de Ven and meet your instructor.
We go through the snorkeling equipment together and give clear explanations. Everything happens calmly and at your pace.
We drive together to Tugboat or Caracasbaai, depending on your choice. With two snorkeling trips, we visit both locations.
We enter the water calmly and practice the skills you need to snorkel comfortably, safely and responsibly.
Afterwards, we discuss your experience. Once the course is completed, your SSI Snorkel Diver recognition is processed.
Total duration: approximately 2 to 3 hours per snorkeling trip, depending on the location and conditions.
